Default new folder name is " New Subfolder ". Service is saved as "A Folder", making its name distinct from any menu command on the macOS systems. Simply right click and select the service (Quick Action), " A Folder". The parent folder need not be selected or highlighted. That prompts user for a folder name, then creates the new named child folder inside of the right clicked parent folder. In Catalina and Mojave a Quick Action is used to select service, "A Folder". The service allows user to right click any Finder folder to select this service in Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra or Mavericks on a wide range of Apple devices. I wrote a service to enhance Finder folder creation. This defeats the entire purpose of the Automation. This is an unexpected fallback to the Apple OS default folder creation location. Not in the root of the right clicked folder or selected folder. When service is run using Ctrl-F shortcut, then Service ignores SELECTED folder location, placing new folder in the root of the Finder displayed directory tree. Service performs as expected, when run using mouse right click in Finder.app. When service is run, it creates a child folder in any right clicked parent folder, with and without selecting (highlighting) target parent folder.
